As reported in the Barnsley Chronicle: as patron of both the LIVE in Barnsley music festival and the charity Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Society (BIADS), Michael is delighted to promote their current partnership. BIADS is LIVE in Barnsley’s chosen charity for this year’s festival and also it the chosen charity for ChoirFest 2017, which this year will be part of the LIVE in Barnsley Fringe Festival.
The aim of LIVE in Barnsley is to showcase musical talent from the town and surrounding area and this year it will take place on Saturday the 17th June and numerous venues around Barnsley Town Centre. The festival draws thousands of local music fans and visitors to venues across Barnsley and the surrounding area.
Michael is not only a patron of the festival, he has played several times at the event. Details of the line up for the festival so far can be found here.
Commenting Michael said:
“LIVE in Barnsley is a tremendous event which gets better and better every year. They have a fantastic tradition of partnering with a different charity each year and this year I am delighted that they have chosen BIADS.
BIADS does truly wonderful work supporting people with dementia and their families. I am hugely honoured to also be a patron of BIADS and I hope that festival goers later in the year will donate all they can to this organisation.
The continuing success of LIVE in Barnsley is testament to the hard work of the organisers, Steve Clifford and Dave Pearsall and I’d like to thank them for supporting BIADS this year”
