Michael Challenges Government Again on the NHS

PharmChron1.jpgThis week Michael once again challenged the Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, in the House of Commons over the Government's handling of the NHS.

Michael accused the Government's proposed Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs) as being a 'Secret Tory Plan' to further decimate our NHS. that will change the make-up of our NHS, and further questioned the Government on their devastating cuts to local community pharmacies

Michael also took the Government to task again this week over their cuts to community pharmacies.

He revealed official figures from the House of Commons Library that nearly 1.3m people will have to travel further to their nearest pharmacy as a result of these cuts - including nearly 300,00 people who would have to travel between two-and-a-half and five miles. Around 70,000 people would have to travel more than five miles.

Michael has been leading the campaign against the Government's cuts to community pharmacies in recent months and you can read his full comments in the Telegraph, the Mirror, the Barnsley Chronicle, and the Barnsley News and Sport.
