Commenting, Michael said:
"I send my congratulations to everyone who was nominated and recognised with an award on Friday especially Birkwood Primary and Darren England as winners but also my other nominees Phil and Vikki Hickling, We Love Wombwell, ‘LIVE in Barnsley’ & Steve Clifford and Dave Pearsall, Andrew Bogg and Acorn Brewery.
I'd also like to thank Andrew Harrod and his team at the Barnsley Chronicle for organising this annual event. Yet again, these awards highlight all that is great about the town. They reward and recognise those within our community who, through thier selfless hard work and dedication, add so much to our lives. They really do make me 'Proud of Barnsley'."
