Michael met with soon-to-be guide dog and James from Guide Dogs yesterday to hear all about their campaigning this year, particularly their campaign against pavement parking.
When pavements are obstructed by vehicles, blind and partially sighted people may have to risk their lives by walking into the road to pass by. This can also be an issue for parents with prams, wheelchair users and many others.
Guide Dogs and a coalition of other charities are seeking a change in the law to make parking on pavements illegal and help make pavements clearer.
Commenting, Michael said, “It was great to meet with Guide Dogs yesterday and hear all about their excellent campaigning throughout this year. The work they do to help support blind and partially sighted people is vital.
