Michael Campaigns to Protect Police and Emergency Service Personnel

This week, Michael used his blog in the Barnsley Chronicle to call for 'protection for the protectors'.

Attacks on the police have risen sharply in Barnsley, up from 27 in 2015 to 31 assaults in just the first nine months of 2016, and Michael is calling for more protection for the dedicated men and women of our emergency services who frequently go above and beyond their duties to look after us.

Recently, Michael has co-sponsored Holly Lynch MP's Bill that proposed tougher sentences for those who assault police officers, and has further supported the Police Federation’s 'Protector the Protectors' campaign.

You can read more about Michael's recent support for these campaigns here.
