Working hard for Barnsley East

More families will be worse off

MD_Tax_Credit_Cut_promo_for_putting_on_web_and_twitter.jpgMichael is supporting the National#StopTheTaxCreditCut Campaign Day. In his regular column for the Barnsley Chronicle, Michael wrote of impact that government plans to cut tax credits in April next year will have on his constituency, leaving working families on average £1,300 a year worse off.

With nearly two thirds of working families in Barnsley East receiving tax credits, this means that some 9,300 local children in his constituency will suffer as a result.
