Michael visits Barnsley Town Hall Open Day

Townhallcom3.jpgOn Saturday 29 November Michael attended the Barnsley Town Hall Open Day. This annual event is an opportunity for people to discover more about how the iconic building has been the heart of local democracy for over 80 years and how the council works. In the spirit of Christmas, people were also able to find out how they can get involved and make a difference in their local community. Michael was able to visit a range of stalls from local community organisations such as The Royal British Legion, Love Where You Live, Greenacre School, Barnsley Youth Council and The White Knights. During the event Michael also found time to have a chat with Santa together with his wife, Mrs Claus.

Commenting, Michael said, "It was great to meet those who volunteer and help in our community and to see the wealth of lovely handmade gifts in the craft market. This event shows Barnsley at its best."
