Michael backs the 'Flaw in the Law' campaign

Adult_sexting.jpgAs reported in today's South Yorkshire Times, Michael is backing a campaign to make it a crime for anadult to send a sexual message to a child.

THe NSPCC 'Flaw in the Law' campaign calls on the Government to introduce a new offence so that it is always illegal for an adult to intentionally send a sexual message to a child.

Commenting, Michael said, “Given the alarming rise in online child abuse, it is very concerning that the current law is unable to adequateley protect children. The Internet poses a serious threat to child safety and the NSPCC is absolutely right to highlight the inadequate levels of protection for children who may be sent sexual material from adults online. The Government should listen to the serious concerns being raised and create a new offence"
