As reported by the Telegraph and in the specialist arts websites artnet.com andartlyst.com, Michael has called for works of art currently hanging in MP’s offices and in secure government buildings to be placed in a new free gallery in the Palace of Westminster.
Some 22,000 works of art in the Government and Parliamentary art collections span six centuries, but are currently not accessible to the public.
Many are also spread around the world in embassies and diplomatic buildings.
